Okay, preggies, advice needed. So I'll have about 3 weeks off after having baby Dove. When she's about 6 weeks old, I'll be able to take a month off (long story, but explained in previous posts). I truly don't know if I should attempt breastfeeding. My mom will watch her when I go back after the 3 weeks is up, and I want that transition to go as smoothly as possible. I have a very busy job, and while I know the laws regarding allowing time to pump, it just won't be possible. I'm already feeling guilty for considering forgoing breastfeeding considering my situation. I'm just trying to prepare as much as possible for her arrival since I'll be a working, single mother. I guess I'm wondering what you all would do in my situation?

do what's right for u and ur baby!!! let me tell you I nursed for 6 months and stopped because I needed to work too and no matter what you will feel guilty for everything it's like a right of passage to parenting lol

@bella91, you are so right. How hard was it for your baby to transition to a bottle? And thanks for the supportive comment, I've seen too many moms get bashed for even considering formula.

I'll be going through the same thing when I go back to work. 😞 I want to breast feed so badly. But I'm going to talk to my boss and see what can be done.

@ashleycoronel, it really is tearing me up not knowing what to do. I know breastfeeding is best, but I honestly don't know if I can make it happen. Hopefully your boss/job is more accommodating than mine.

Don't stress about it too much. They make formula for situations like this ! it does not make you any less of a mother or your baby any less likely to be healthy. You're doing your absolute best given your circumstances.

@ashleycoronel, thank you for saying what I really needed to hear. Apparently guilt is a part of motherhood. Side note... I see you're due very soon! Early congrats to you. ❤️

Absolutely. I don't think as mothers we will ever feel like we are able to give 110% like we would love to. & aw, thank you so much. 😘

my girl just wanted to eat. I think b our society plays up everything like the ppl who are all bottle feeding gurus are like " omg, ur breastfeeding, do you know how hard it will be when you want to go back to work or transition to a bottle"? and vise versa.... when a person big or small is hungry they eat ( unless there are medical problems) I think there is way too much emphasis on transition which comes from our own uncertainties. in my experience my girl was a chub a wanted milk of any kind from where ever she could get it lol... my best advice try your best don't stress nursing is tough but totally worth the struggle. if my 2nd child doesn't take to breastfeeding I will be sad cause it's my plan but he'll be just fine like the rest of the children (myself included ) who drank formula. and I am totally prepared to feel guilty for everything else in his life because I know from experience ending breastfeeding was just the 1st of many things that in would feel guilty for. good luck & trust your gut. .. billions of women did this before us and billions will do it after us we got this! !!
