Ok serious question, no bashing please as this is my concern is more for my baby but yes also for myself bc of my situation but here goes! How many of you have self induced around 36/37 weeks and were successful and what did you use as methods? My baby is measuring almost 4 weeks ahead in weight right now and my body is not built to deliver big babies at all! I have two slipped discs in my back as well and I fear needing a c section due to baby's size of I go full term! Also she is breech as of 26 weeks, I'm currently 30 and I'm going to start my tricking her to turn tonight bc having her breech is so very uncomfortable! My oldest was 8.8lbs and I almost smothered her to death literally bc of my small size and I fear bc of baby's weight already I fear for my baby! I'm hoping to trick her into turning bc I fear a c section bc of the needle in the back and I've already had substantial surgery to my stomach/belly I fear being cut open again but if it's a must to have a c section I believe I'm going to wish to be knocked out in fear of the current situation with my back, I can't risk anymore injury to it or having issues with my legs due to the epidural bc I suffer with fibromyalgia as well! So my question is what are the home remedies to self induce? What is your story with self inducing? How long did it take? What are your epidural/c section stories please, good and bad I want to know it all! TIA (sorry so long and detailed)

I don't have experience with self inducing but I beg you to please wait until baby is at least 37 weeks the longer the better...baby's brain and lungs still at this point need to develop more even if the baby is bigger. my sister delivered and 8 pound baby at 35 weeks...my niece was in the nicu for almost a month because of complications. I'm commenting because I had a c section and I was so terrified because I've never had surgery before. they took me in because I just wasn't progressing after 2 days of labor with being induced. they gave me the shot in the back but it was quick and was only a little prick and didn't hurt...once I was prepped they started, my daughter was out with in minutes...it took longer to close up lol. I was up walking around later that night. I had pain but after two weeks I didn't need pain meds anymore and by 4 weeks I had to remind myself to still take it easy because I felt great. I had no complications.

It's your baby, you can try whatever you want... Just bear in mind I tried everything from sex to pineapple to castor oil and my due date was yesterday lol so I don't personally think any natural methods to self induce work. If your doctor has any concerns about baby they will let you know if induction is the best route to take.

I have heard the chiropractor can help so they baby is no longer breach. (At least that's one concern that you may be able to take care of). I would search for one that works with pregnant women. I go to one, however, my baby is not breach.

I agree with @blueberrybrewing I honestly believe self inducing is pure coincidence with actually going into labor. I don't believe it actually works. & likewise, if your baby isn't safe, your doctor will take the necessary precautions to get them out when it is safe.
