Also. He's gaining weight just fine and I actually have an over supply of milk.

Nothing against formula fed babies, we just prefer he's breastfed for the first year.

@alianagirl, he's going through a growth spurt and im not giving him formula just so my boobs can get a break. In fact, the more he is on the breast, that tells your body he needs more, therefore you make more. I may be exhausted but I'm going to let him eat as often and as long as he likes. Formula is not an option for us.

my daughter does that sometimes it's normal I asked her pediatrician she's cluster feeds some days .if u pump and don't get alot of milk don't think that's how much milk your baby is getting the pump doesn't suck like a baby does . there's days I pump and only get 2 oz and other days I get 6 oz. and well as long as his gaining weight his fine my daughter came out from the hospital weighing 4lbs 15oz and she weighed 6lbs 8oz at her 2 week check up. and that's how she would eat at times she was on my breast for 1&1/2 at a time

I had to start pumping and measuring the ounces. if you express alot of milk though and he's still latched on that's not good cause he's over eating...you should def speak to your doc. OR unless he's just sucking to sooth.in which case you could try giving him a pacifier. .. bit either way go check with your doc make sure he's feeding right

my daughter lost alot of weight because she wasn't getting enough breast milk directly from me

because maybe he's not getting enough to eat. ..I know I was only expressing drops of breast milk. .. once I started the formula..or pumping and I was able to see How much she was eating she knocked out fast
