my sons been sleeping since 10.. should i wake him up and feed him orrr just let him sleep and wait till he wakes up?

I was told to make sure they eat at least every 3 hours, and 8-12 times a day
I never woke my daughter up when she was sleep lol she wouldn't starve herself....their greedy selves will wake up lol

One thing I dont understand is if i rock him to sleep in my arms and put him down hell wake up 5-10 minutes later, why would he appear settled but then wake up?..you think he would just wake up as soon as I put him down then if he is not settled no?? Maybe someone has some insight?
Is it normal for an 18 month old sleeping patterns to drastically change. He goes to bed around 1030, he used to wake up around 6 or 7 am now he sleeps until around 12.. . Is he going thru a growth spurt? Should I wake him or let him sleep thru it??
