did any of you mommies get a flu shot while pregnant?

They tried to give it to me today but I said no.

it's not bad at all. i had it. no problems what so ever. except i felt a little extra crappy the next day

I didn't... it's a live virus and I'm not trying to be sick right now! lol

I got it down when I was around 35 weeks I think? It wasn't bad at all, it just made that spot on my arm sore for a couple days. I can't afford to get sick this winter with this upcoming baby! @analissa_cee

I got it at the beginning of my pregnancy and again last Friday! It's the first barrier your baby will have against the flu as well!!! And I can't be sick and taking care of a newborn ha!

okay I'm 38 weeks and my doctor was saying they recommend it but I never really get flu shots but maybe I should get it , should I do it after I have him or? while I'm still pregnant? I'm due next Saturday. @blueberrybrewing

Okay, i just looked back at my notes and I was actually 37 weeks when I got the flu shot... Sorry, these past weeks have all been a blur lol. Personally, I would get it, the last time I got the flu shot was when I was in elementary school so it's not like I get it every year. My doctor also recommended it and assured me that the live virus amount is so minuscule that even if I were to feel some flu-like symptoms, baby wouldn't be affected.

I thought I would rather take the chance to feel a little crappy for a few days (which i didn't!) versus get sick later and then if baby was born and I did get the flu, I would definitely give it to him. And you could wait until after, but I figured, again, I'd rather feel a little crappy when i only have myself to take or versus having a little one to take care of too... I hope what I said makes sense lol but in the end that was just my thinking/experience @analissa_cee

I got mine yesterday. I've never ever gotten the flu shot but my doctor explained to me that the flu can have serious complications for pregnant women, including fetal death 🙀 So I'd rather be safe than sorry. My arm is a little bit sore but that's it. AND They don't give high risk patients (i.e. Pregnant women, old people, and little kids) the live virus

I got mine and I didn't get sick this time.
