So we'd picked a name and now OH (who just so happens to be on a day trip with his parents and brother!) now tells me he doesn't like it and wants to name our son after his first cat.... 😡😡😡

@simplymschloe, Hunter Miles is really nice, stick with it. We liked Miles for a boy. Just call bump Hunter and he'll eventually get the hint!!

I don't like shortening names either. we liked the name zac for ages but for the last year or so have loved Carter. So we calling out little boy Carter Jay and can be shortened to CJ. as My grandad has always called me VJ since I was a little girl from Victoria jade. so I wanted to carry on something for him 💞 altho I wish he was here to see me grow as a wife and a mother! as he was like a dad to me. x
@winterbaby95, one of my boys is called Zachary and it really annoys me when people shorten it to Zach! I'm forever correcting people saying no his name is Zachary. My other is Toby which luckily you can't shorten!! x

@simplymschloe, I really like Hunter and Harvey isn't too bad either but I couldn't look at my child without thinking you were named after your dad's cat 😂 maybe it's just parents putting their two pennies worth in, my mum is the same and it stresses me out so much.
@xxtxx so they name we had was Hunter and now he's telling me he doesn't like it because you can't really shorten it but he wants to call him Harvey after his cat!! 😳 because you can shorten it to Harv and it's a strong name right.... And I know I'm bad but I just keep thinking about Jordan's son Harvey 🙈 and Harvey Cobblepott (The Penguin from Batman) and I just can't do it!!!!! 😆😂

I always get called Beth, Bethan, Bee, Beebs, Bee Bee...etc! I don't really mind xD But when it comes to my kid...I'm not going to tell him/her to answer unless they get called by their proper name etc or if they say to the person they are alright with shortening it. But around me they have to use the original name..no nicknames! I always ask people what they mind being called...and always ask if I can shorten it :) I don't do it without their permission! xx
