Wondering if it's really necessary to get nipple cream? I'm a first time mom and plan on breastfeeding when Ellie gets here. Does it help? Does breastfeeding really hurt that bad? If you've used it how long did you use it for? Could you go without it or would you swear it's a "must have"? Please comment opinions :)

Yes definitely get nipple cream!! You will need it

I rub my milk on before and after feeds and it's worked way better than nipple cream. I'm also a ftm

I've only used coconut oil and breastmilk with no problems.

I used Lansinoh lanolin cream which helped, I used it a lot in the beginning and now just occasionally. And yes breast feeding hurt, a lot - at least it hurt me.
