why why why why why is it that every year the military's and veteran services paycheck gets threatened because congress can't work out a budget before the new fiscal year? like fuck I'm trying to finish prepping for a baby alone, which a lot of my big items had to wait to be bought until last week because it took almost 11 weeks for the army to move me out of the barracks, and I still have my bills to pay but they wanna take away my pay while they sit around with their 6 figure salaries. fuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkkkk I hate this shit.

like no joke I remember the first year I was in this happened. I was in AIT about to move to Georgia and they were like "make sure you have enough money saved to cover a month or two of bills cuz we probably won't get paid". if they stop paying me, my ass isn't going to work @jdrose

I love the army, as much as it sucks sometimes. and I love being a soldier. but I don't think they realize how many soldiers live paycheck to paycheck and are barely scraping by trying to support their families. I know people whose wives are stay at home moms, not because they don't want to work, but because they save money by her not working and them not having to pay for daycare @jdrose

yeah I work IT but I'm in a tactical signal unit here. so I chill in the office or go take care of baby stuff. when I come off maternity leave I'll be back on a team and heading on missions @jdrose

he'll go to daycare from the time I'm at pt until 6 at the latest. when they send me out he's gonna stay with some of my friends if it's less than 2 months @jdrose but if it's more than 2 months I'll be gone, either my mom will fly over to get him or I'll fly home and get him settled in there with her.

I'm trying to get into this position where I'll be detached to another unit to work in their signal shop and I won't have to go to the field for at least a month every quarter. @jdrose cuz my unit does a lot of missions all over Europe supporting different American and foreign units
