Serious props to moms who go through pregnancy and then do it again! I'm glad I didn't know how sick and miserable I would be... I might have wimped out.

Congratulations but I wouldn't recommend it . It HAS been linked to numerous birth defects idk how you can deny that but If you've done research on zolfran & not just base it off an experience your mother had I'm sure you'd reconsider . Her being an actual RN & saying she's done research on it should give you an idea that it's not something to take while pregnant .

I don't think the Zofran story is necessarily true. My mom was pregnant with triplets, a very high risk pregnancy. She was given Zofran, she says its the only thing that helped. The babies had complications due to premature birth but had no side effects from the Zofran. & she was on bed rest the whole pregnancy, once again I doubt they would have given her anything to make her more at risk. But of course whatever makes you comfortable is what you should do. Just wanted to share that because I take zofran now and its the only thing that helps me. I've lost 15 pounds in my first trimester from not eating, so thank God I have some relief.

@athenas_mommy, sooo I tried it... Genius. I gave it a full hour to make sure it wasn't just in my head. I drank the baking soda/sugar in warm water over about 10 minutes. Shockingly I didn't throw up. I thought I was going to but instead I let out a giant burp! Then a few minutes later burped big again. And it's been about an hour and I still feel pretty good. Thanks for the tip!

@athenas_mommy, that's insane. I'm so sorry! It blows my mind that pregnant women are still given zofran. It's well known in the medical community that it is high risk for defects.

@athenas_mommy, @norcalmomma I won't take zofran. I'm actually a RN... I have seen too many defects directly related to zofran. Especially cleft pallates

Me either . My mans mom actually made it for me one time & it was the only thing that helped.

DO NOT TAKE ZOLFRAN! I'm almost 100% positive that's what caused my baby's Craniosynostosis

I had to have my doctor prescribe anti nausea Meds (be careful, Zofran is a popular one but can bother the baby early in pregnancy). I lost so much weight and couldn't keep anything down. It helped!

@athenas_mommy, I haven't heard the baking soda/sugar idea. I will try pretty much anything right now.

Try a tablespoon of baking soda & two tablespoons of sugar with a dash of peppermint extract or oil mixed in a glass of warm water . I would only take a couple sips , throw up once than be good for a while

@athenas_mommy, Ginger, tummy drops, vitamin b, b-natal pops, staying hydrated, snacking frequently, eating cristalized ginger, only taking my vitamins before I sleep, avoiding foods that make me sick (most meat) peppermint tea, smelling lavender, pepto bismol...
