When did everyone get limits on what they can lift and what was the limit? I work at a grocery store that takes people's groceries to their cars for them so I just want to make sure I'm not doing too much.

@pooh2197, thanks! I stopped doing the 40-60 pound things but I'll feel much safer with cases of water and stuff.

@pi oh2197, that makes sense. I'll keep doing what I'm doing until I'm told differently.

I have been off work 2 months already. I work EMS and my employer requested a note from my OB. When I got it, he had written "No lifting over 35 lbs, no excessive physical activity, and no excessive or prolonged standing" so that put me off the ambulance. I have been trying to find a job, but no one will hire me because I'm overqualified for the jobs I'm applying for (I have a Masters Degree in Public Health) and pregnant. Although it is illegal to not hire due to pregnancy, it's too difficult to prove that is the reason.

@me sd2mom, ugh. I sometimes have 10 hour shifts, all on my feet, running in and out plus lifting for most of it. I can't afford to lose this job though or get my hours cut.
