So did anyone choose their pediatrician while they were at the hospital? Did they do it based on your insurance and did you actually like the pediatrician you chose?

a diff pedatrician from the one I chose for my lil girl came and saw her in hospital. but my obgyn also gave me a list of pedatricians in my area.
@jjbutton, oh okay, thank you! my friend delivered at the hospital I'm delivering at and she said they just made her choose but don't remember if she actually came lol
Oh, and then you will most likely have a follow up within two days of leaving the hospital.
From what I have heard in our area, not all pediatricians have privileges at the hospitals. I got recommendations from neighbor's and my obgyn. From there, we checked to see who was on our insurance and interviewed the pediatrician. Unfortunately, they do not go to the hospital, but I have heard that they will have the NICU Doctor on staff see the baby. Records will then be transferred to the pediatrician's office.
With my oldest son (17 years ago!) the hospital gave me a list of who took my insurance and the pediatrician I planned on using anyway was on the list.... I used him with my next son and plan on using him with my daughter also, as soon as she's released from the hospital the next state over! 😊

With my son the hospital chose whoever was there and with my daughter I chose the same one as my sisters at the birth at the hospital.
@february2016, @babybump3 I don't like my pediatrician. he isn't a good doctor and doesn't take my insurance anyways lol
They literally gave me a random one based off of my Medicaid because I didn't even think to get one. But luckily I like her a lot.
I was recommended by family to my pediatraion and I like her alot
