stories on mommies who chose to have a c section? I'm debating on going ahead and just having a c section, I'm a FTM, and I would really like to go into labor on my own and have my baby natural (no epidural) but I'm almost 37 weeks and not dilated or thinned AT ALL! And I've walked, had lots of sex, squats, bounced on a exercise ball for hours... nothing is working and nothing has helped and at my 35 week ultrasound my baby was a little over 6 pounds.. I was 8 lbs 10 ounces 21 1/2 inches long when I was born and my husband was 10 pounds something ounces 22 inches long so I'm scared to wait until 41 weeks (when my doctor will induce me if I haven't had him yet) and try to have him vaginally just to have a c section anyway.. I don't want trauma down there if it's not necessary! I know a lot of women who tried to push, got cut and everything and still had to have a c section...

My doctor said that "there's no way to tell how big is to big to have him"... So I'm debating on having a c section if I don't go into labor on my own by 39 weeks.. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I'll ask her then but just wondering about any stories that are similar? And wonder about c sections and the "routine" procedure...? TIA

I thought you had to have complications or have had a c-section before to have one. I was told you can't choose.

I don't think you can choose to have a c-section.

I was induced because I was severely anemic and my levels kept dropping and it wasn't safe. I labored for 24 hours, pushed for two and ended up in a c section because my baby was too big to fit through my pelvis. He wasn't even engaged at all. He was 8lbs 14oz and 21-1/2 inches long. I would have never chose a c section.. Not trying to scare you but the recovery is super rough.. I'm 16 days pp and still have tons of pain..

It's totally normal for a first time mom to deliver between 38-42 weeks and you can safely go to 42 weeks, and if you do go "overdue" your doctor will monitor you. I wish they wouldn't give specific due dates because they aren't accurate and then we stress about being "on time" or "early". They should tell pregnant women that your gestation is 43 weeks so everyone will think their baby came "early" 😂😂😂 lol. I wasn't effaced or dilated until I was in active labor at 41+1 weeks, and it's perfectly normal to not show any progress until you are in active labor. Baby will come. ❤️ try to relax and let it happen when it's meant to happen.

To be honest lol you still have plenty of time to make progression, also u can't compare u and ur husband's weight to ur unborn not accurate and ultrasound is not 100% accurate with the exact weight, just an estimate! My son was supposed to be 8pounds, came out weighing 6pounds! So I will just wait it out, some women don't dilate at all until in actually real real real labor! If u rip they give you a few stitches. Why do c-section if it's not doctor recommended? Just be patient and let nature take it's course!

I agree with your comment well said lol, I was 40 weeks and 3days and didn't dilate until I was in really active labor! And I no doctor's shouldn't give specific due dates cause they aren't active lmao! @kmally

My first daughter was 6 pounds at 35 weeks and at birth 8 lb 13 ounces and 22 inches long and I'm a 4'10 & 90 lbs (usually). So I'm pretty tiny. I had her at 41 weeks with no problems. Didn't rip, or get cut and she didn't have to be vacuumed out. It went perfect.
