The paying part sucks, but the planning part is the best. I've paid for most of my own, with a little help from my MIL, who is actually the host, but she's paying for all of the food so the decorations have fallen on me. Which I don't mind, because then I get to pick exactly what I want. I tried to let others do it for me and it just wasn't measuring up!
No not at all. My husband and I paid for out shower. He paid for the drinks and food. I paid for the invites, decorations and kid stuff since it was a jack n jill family bbq shower.
