I posted about smoking a few puffs of a cig last night. I felt better after talking to my boyfriend and best friend about it; this is a lot harder than it seems. my sister is a smoker and is living with us for awhile and so when she goes outside to smoke I am not going outside because I can't handle temptation right now. Namely bc I do like the socialization aspect I get a little agitated when I don't trust myself to even sit outside and not smoke. instead on the inside I get pissed bc I am not allowed to do these things but then I get mad bc I should be grateful I have a little life inside of me...and shouldn't complain. thus the cycle continues.

I know how you feel, I felt the same exact way pregnant. I kept telling myself it wasn't worth it. I forced myself to "TRY" to stop and by the grace of God I stopped while pregnant.. Now, i smoke again. (Outside on the porch) It's very hard but you can do it.. 😊😉

I was a smoker before I got pregnant with my son. I quit as soon as I found out, and I had been smoking for almost 5 years. But it's easier for some people. It took my husband two years to finally quit and be ok with it. My aunt smoked throughout all 3 of her pregnancies and her babies were fine. It's gonna be a very tough and very long road to quit smoking, but you can do it!! 😊

You could also always try vaping!! It isn't "as bad" lol.

I don't smoke and never have so I don't know the struggle. But, my sister smoked through out her whole pregnancy and her daughter was born perfectly healthy besides one health issue that was definitely not caused by smoking. But anyways, her OB told her it's better to smoke a few every day or to just cut back rather than to be super stressed out from needing to smoke but not being able to. Large amounts of stress are worse on the baby than a cigarette now and then.

I vaped at the beginning of this pregnancy until it made me feel sick so I stopped.

I smoked for 7 years before I got pregnant. I quit cold turkey as soon as I found out. My husband smokes, but never around me. That made it more difficult at 1st, the withdrawal was difficult, but it's something I was very serious about doing. It is extremely hard to do, but it's not going to ever be easy, and at this point, you need to do it for your baby. At the very least, quit for these 9 months, and then you have the whole rest of your life to smoke.

With my aunt they told her she could cut back but stopping would put her baby in distress and be worse than if she continued smoking and she did that with both of my cousins and the only thing wrong with them is there bad

I also heard about the stresses of quitting. That worried me too, but I knew there is no way that smoking can be better for the baby. Sure, there are people who smoke & have healthy babies, but it's a huge risk to take. I had terrible headaches, slight fever, jitters & very sore gums. The worst of it lasted about 2 weeks, and then got much better. My Dr knew I was quittng cold turkey, and she supported it. She was not concerned about these symptoms harming my baby. I still have cravings, but I think it's something you will always deal with as an ex smoker. Good luck with this, it's definitely a process, and hard as shit!!! As for the social aspect, yes, it sucks. Just like with drinking... aahh :-/
