That's usually the number one reason why people over feed their babies. You're the momma honey. I had to go through the same thing but I've learned that I have to make my own decisions for My baby. You'll do great momma.

@junesmommy15, right I was thinking that, my n laws was saying feed her in like I just did they like she wasn't some more had me feeling like I was going something wrong.

My baby eats his hands all the time. He just likes his hands. 5 oz. is definitely too much for a week old baby.

@junesmommy15, @paigesanchez14 I could be overfeeding but its hard for me to tell because when I do stop she keeps nibbling on her hands and try to find my nipple,she's 1 week and can drink 5 ounces in one feeding,when I have the bottle she eat ever 2-3 hours when I Brest feed she eat for 15-30 mins depending on her hunger.

I know you're tired mama... The begging is far from easy, and people don't realize how much of a toll it takes in the begging😕 I recommend getting a LC to help you if you want to continue breastfeeding they'll make your life a lot easier

@so_rue_, how old is little one?? Typically new borns only need an oz an hour. So if she's asleep 3hours give 3oz. You could be over feeding , which will make it impossible to keep up with her demand. With a bottle it takes about 2mins for baby to realize their full.

It's definitely your decision and I'm not trying to tell you otherwise. It's just nice to have some help from people who've been through the same thing. I was switching to formula but still wanted to breastfeed my baby so I kept getting with my lactation consultants. Babies soothe themselves by eating. Whether they are full or not. My son would eat three ounces at two weeks (which I knew was too much) and still want more and get fussy. I talked to my lactation consultant and found out that he was too full and trying to soothe his hurting tummy by eating more. If you really want to do this don't give up just yet. The first month is the worst and from there you become a pro. I've been going 3 months strong since then and I'm so happy I didn't give up either. If you don't feel like you can't do it that's ok you did as much as you could.

I feed and feed and feed , like I just have her 5 ounces of milk I pumped she drunk the whole thing and wanted more it's only one feeding she only need 20 once in 24 hours I believe that's less that what she's wants..I pumped till there was no more milk coming out I got one more 5 ounce to give her so my breast can have a break,😞😞😞im tired.

@junesmommy15, @paigesanchez14 @lucky20074 when latching she has the right latch some of my Breast be in her mouth she likes to turn her head while feeding and that made her catch my nipple numerous times and created super sore nipples , any who im thinking she's not getting enough?? she's always sucking her hands and smacks

This is me speaking from experience mama. Lemme tell you!! Lol the first 3 weeks were absolutely hell for me I almost gave up and got formula. I had clogged ducts, her latch wasn't right and I found myself screaming and crying in pain DREADING to feed her, I was so stressed and depressed Luckily I got in contact with a lactation consultant 😁 she helped so much told me she was latching wrong and helped me fix it.. BAM PAIN WENT AWAY!! honestly mama, the first month is the hardest because it's all very new to you and it's okay it does get better I'm at 6 weeks and now it is so much can easier! I'm very glad I didn't give up when it got hard, because I've reached the light at the end of the tunnel! Breast feeding isn't for everyone and it's okay if you don't want to give formula.. I switched after 3weeks of having a horrible experience breastfeeding my son litterally split my nipple from being so hungry thank goodness it healed correctly but i wasnt producing what my son wanted so i switched him to formula and by 2months he was putting down 40oz a day he was happy i was happy do what feels right to you you also can try to pump and feed and see how he does with that but some babies do better on formula and some better on breast dont let anyone tell you either way is right or wrong your mom you will do whats best for your baby

@paigesanchez14, is right. She may not be latching correctly. When my baby wasn't latching correctly I would have to prepare myself to feed him because it hurt so bad. Once he start latching correctly everything was perfect.

You shouldn't be in pain when you feed him mama... The babies latch may be the problem
