You're supposed to fast no food 8hrs prior to testing usually no eating after midnight till appointment is over

yes that's what I'm use to ... but they told me to eat so that's why I'm confused

If they told you to eat, I would eat something like an egg, no carbs/sugar, just protein. I would definitely call your Dr. and ask for clarification. 😊
