What did you eat before?

Okay, first - calm down. Breathe. ☺ Did they tell you to fast before the test? I had my 3 hour glucose done yesterday and its not fun. I was told to fast though. I've dealt with pre diabetes for the past few years. It won't put your baby at any risk if you do whatever your doctor tells you to, and follow their instructions if they send you for the 3 hour and they find you have gestational diabetes. If you do, chances are you will be put on a strict diet, possible medication but thats only if its severe, and close watch by your doctor. You will also probably need to see a nutritionist and or diabetic specialist. It will all be okay, if you do in fact have gest diabetes, but it could have just been elevated blood sugar levels from eating and not fasting. Good luck hun! xo

Thanks ladies. I needed some good news. I was freaking out because I have been trying to eat as healthy as possible for my baby so the news of having high glucose results freaked me out a bit. I'm feeling a little better about it now.

Don't worry about baby, s/he is fine...but! You should definitely tell your doctor or nurse that you ate before the glucose test because that would surely have an effect on the results of your test.

Happens a lot! Doesn't mean any of those negative connotations. I'd bet that it was high because you did eat. I had a Popsicle before mine and ended up failing but passed the 3 hour one because I made sure I didn't eat beforehand. I'm sure you'll pass the next one! :)
