Any mommies here roux en y gastric bypass patients or have had any other weight loss surgery before…

@lashauna31, oh wow that's fresh! How far along are you? How much weight had you lost prior to getting pregnant?

@babyhawkins2015, mine was open roux en y, tough recovery but great outcome...have you had any babies since your surgery? If so did you carry to full term?

@babymckynlee, ..i was blessed with no complications after my surgery at all. To be honest, I wasn't planning on having anymore kids after my surgery back in 2003 and especially because of my age..lol. So this is my first after surgery. My best friend had open gastric as well...she had major complications back in 2004. She's had two babies both with complications having them pre-term (she had one at 34 weeks...the other 35 weeks) but they are perfectly healthy now..they are 4 &5 years old. She's currently 18 weeks pregnant with her third and seeing a high risk Dr. So far, I have not had what the Dr's consider high risk but this pregnancy has definitely been a huge challenge from my other three.

@babyhawkins2015, I hadn't planned on any more children after my surgery either but I left my husband of 9 years and got pregnant by my bf! I only know of women who have had gastric bypass and then had preterm births and that's what has me so scared! I'm only 28 weeks but the stress I've been through during this pregnancy has me scared of premature birth, I don't have any pregnancy related issues so far just health issues that I had before becoming pregnant! Praying I make it to at least 36 weeks, that's my goal right now! Fingers crossed!

@babymckynlee, sounds like my story... I met my fiance who doesn't have kids and we spoke hypothetically about it....and BOOM it happened within weeks! Are you seeing a high risk Dr? Funny, you would think that with my medical/surgical history and age that I would have been referred to a high risk Dr. Has the baby's progress been fine all this time? If so...you should be fine. My best friend's babies were measuring small and she has complications just consuming food til this day.

@babyhawkins2015, yes I see high risk bc of pre existing medical conditions, medications that couldn't be stopped while I'm pregnant, my surgery and previous high risk pregnancies, but I don't have any pregnancy related issues with this pregnancy which is my first care free pregnancy my other two were difficult! Her growth and development is on point and she's actually on the bigger side, as of 26 weeks she was weighing 2.5lbs already...doctor is going to monitor her size bc of mine, I'm small, which is hard to describe to people bc I've been small all my life until after I had my second daughter when my thyroid went under active and my high blood pressure stayed with me and I gained over 100lbs...my surgery wasn't done correctly and I was left with a lot of issues but I've got it all under control now and I had gotten down to 140lbs but now I have gained 22lbs so far and that's kinda depressing but I've been through a lot during this pregnancy as far as my ex and all! Just praying I make it to 36 weeks at least

@babyhawkins2015, my original due date was December 8th then they moved it to the 13th and she's measuring ahead now but they haven't changed my due date just watching her weight and growth now! So excited, my third and last baby, third girl! Congrats and good luck to you

@babymckynlee, that's wonderful! this is my forth baby... and last for sure!! lol

But it's like I'm starting all over again. My oldest will be 21 in a few months and my youngest is 15...ugh. thank you. Congratulations to you as well.. wishing you many blessings!!
