Caution I'm venting:
It's so frustrating that the health care plan I was previously on only allowed me to have my baby on a military installation. However, if I switched my health care plan I could deliver at a civilian hospital which the switchover would happen immediately. I finished out my scheduled appts with the midwife of base and switched my health care on the 8th to find a new doctor off post. I had everything planned out, the clinic, and where I would be delivering they just told me I needed to wait until I switched. Long story short now, I went there on the 8th to drop off my medical records waited till Friday to hear back only to find out she was waiting for a referral from my insurance company which I told her was incorrect, I call the insurance they said everything checks out and so I call back and she refuses to look up my information to see if I had the correct insurance, I get upset and call my husband and he calls her only to find out that she immediately shredded my paperwork and said they couldn't take me as a patient. I called another clinic to schedule an appt and they can't work with my work schedule at all and the soonest appt I could get in that works with my schedule is on October 9th and it's only an intake appt to see is the doctor will even take me and then they said they would schedule my prenatal appt, so now my question is, will it be bad if I go 8 weeks without a prenatal appt? I don't know what to do. I'm without a doctor currently.

well 1 I would want to talk to the others places supervisor about her not even looking into your insurance and paperwork and just shredding your files

I think if you've had a healthy pregnancy and have had perfect check ups, it wouldn't be horrible if you waited 8 weeks but of course that's just my opinion... I think it's how comfortable you are with waiting the 8 weeks.

@frances.gln92, I did that yesterday and she called me this morning to confirm that the lady did indeed shred my paperwork, I told her I still wanted to be seen at that clinic and so I emailed her my medical records and proof of insurance so they could try and schedule me an appt and am waiting to hear back, but I still need a back up plan if that doesn't go through. So I'm keeping that intake appt scheduled just in case. But I don't like knowing I don't have a doctor right now.

how far along are you? and I would call the supervisor of the place and tell them she willingly and knowing shredded your paper work.
