when did you ladies take maternity leave from work? I'm trying to go til 39 weeks but lord work is killing me already!
I wouldn't push yourself too hard towards the end because you'll want to be somewhat relaxed when labor happens. Just listen to your body and when you think it's time to take work off, then do just that. Also, don't let anyone pressure/guilt you into staying longer. When I told my manager that I was leaving at 38 weeks she tried making me feel like I was just being lazy because SHE "worked until she went into labor".
I work only 5 hrs a day and I swear it drives me crazy I work at fast food I started working there when I was 30 weeks bc my dad got stationed in GA so im new down here and my job is horrible they put me to work in line and be the frier but its so frustrating but I dont say anything I just do my job cant be complaining I guess but hope to get a transfer to a different job after my little princess comes but I wish u luck and hope u can work as much as u expect to
@coraanne, state law says I can take up to 12 weeks but I thinking 6 weeks. 2 of which will be paid because it's vacation time instead of maternity leave. I'm scared of something happening to me while I'm manager on duty & I won't be able to leave
I was 38 weeks when I went on maternity leave with my first. I too was a manager at a retail store and was on cement floor 8-9 hours a day. Honestly, I'm surprised I lasted that long! How much time do you get for maternity leave?
@nety, I'm in the process of seeing different Dr's because the office I go to has 6 different ones & I have to meet them all in case my dr isn't on call when I go into labor. I asked the last dr I seen & she said as long as I can stand it. she said she was in surgery the day before she went into labor. I can't do all that. my boss doesn't help matters either he thinks I should be able to do more now that I'm pregnant
Yeah I'm usually standing for 8-11 hours at a time on concrete myself. I'm supposed to get a 15 minute break every 2 hours but it never happens.
yeah thats what ive been doing bc I really need to work im ready to stop I work mon through fri its exhausting but I do it bc of her and im a single mom so I cant take the pleasure of relaxing but its fine and if your doc said its fine I guess u can still work just ask them whenever u go to appoinments bc sometimes they will tell u to be in bed rest so always make sure with them
I'm a cashier at a home improvement store so I'm standing up for 6-8 hours on a cement floor which constantly have my feet hurting @fancy.shattuck
@nety, I'm already uncomfortable at work but I'm gonna keep pushing through it as long as I can
@amber.s95, @ls99 what kind of work do you do? I'm a manager in retail & I'm constantly on my feet running around way too much. plus they've gotten to where I'm the only manager on my shift so if something happens to me I can't leave
I will be taking mine the 3rd of oct and im due the 9th I just want to have atleast have a week off work so I can relax its hard to wake up in the morning and be standing up all day but I guess it depends on how much u can take just to the point where u still comfortable to keep doing the job
I went at 36 weeks because my boss decided work was too hard for me and was worried I'd hurt myself. I wanted to work as long as possible tho
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
How many days do you have left ?!?
How many days until you're done work- if you're still working ?!
I really don't understand the judgment between being a working mom or a stay at home mom. If you need to work, work. If not, don't. No need to degrade other women for doing the opposite of you. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
We are having a debate at work....
Should you pick up hitchhikers?
How many of you ladies work??
I work at a restaurant as a server. So I was on my feet constantly. Honestly tho I was glad I went on maternity leave early and got the chance to rest and prepare for my baby. The rest was much needed.
