Yesterday I was almost 2cm dilated & told that I was in early labor with my symptoms being what they are and that Jax could POSSIBLY be born my Wednesday considering I wasn't dilated any week before last... today I'm having extreme CONSTANT never ending lower back pain with sharp shooting pains down there that last for a few seconds and then goes away only to return again a few minutes later. I tried to take a warm bath, relax, walk, take a nap but nothing seems to be helping. I went to the hospital at 33 weeks and had to have a shot to stop labor/contractions because my cervix was softening but for some odd reason I have the gift of not being able to feel my contractions. I have a very high pain tolerance so I'm unsure how to time them because they just felt like period pains to me which the nurse was shocked because of how many I was having. Should I go in?
Discomfort is normal at your stage of pregnancy. Unless you think you are in labor don't go to the ER. It's horrible to be there and be pregnant but not delivering.
@mausmom, my doctors office is closed on Fridays so he told me if I needed him just to go in, I was curious as to wait y'all thought because I hate to make that trip and it be nothing, I don't want them to think I'm a cry baby.
You have to call your doctor to know whether they think it's time to go in or not.
I had a dr app yesterday and was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced and I'm 38 weeks today. I am having pain like that too but not every 3 minutes . They say once they are every 3 minutes to go in. && I am having a bunch of pelvic pressure and back pain.
If your pains become rhythmic then watch for them to be 3-5 minutes apart and then go in. My labor experience was that the bearable pains were not active labor pains. When you cannot stand or walk anymore that's when baby's arrival is immanent.
