anyone on here dealing/ or dealt with high blood pressure? my blood pressure has been flip floppy…
anyone on here dealing/ or dealt with high blood pressure? my blood pressure has been flip floppy but on the high side through the whole pregnancy. Midwife said the cut off is 140 for them, they want it to be below 140 (the top number. my bottom number has been fine) and it has read 140 a couple times or high 130's. it was 140 when I went in yesterday. she did it 3 times and it read 140 and she started talking about sending me to the hospital if it consistently reads high. they would check my blood pressure again at the hospital because their machines are more accurate and take blood samples..and put me on blood pressure meds if needed. luckily the 4th time she did the reading it was normal (135) and I got to go home. anyone dealt with this and is there anything I can do? they already put me on calcium/magnesium. I'm worried this might lead to hypertension

I had gestational hypertension in my last pregnancy and mine was much higher than that and I was never put on medication. Granted, it didn't start to get really high until later in my third trimester. Eventually when it was 150/110 they decided to induce at 38 weeks. I also have a midwife and my pressure is consistently 140ish/75 and they aren't concerned at this point.

I expect it will get higher as the pregnancy progresses - are you on daily dose aspirin? I've been on it since the beginning and it seems to be making a difference. Maybe ask about that.

thanks @mslillyofthevalley so far I'm just on the calcium /magnesium to see if that makes a difference. hopefully it won't go higher than 140 and I'm trying to stay as calm as possible
