Have to decide whether to go for a hospital or the Birth centre for the birth of my baby. I am hoping to go for an unmedicated delivery. I was lucky to get a midwife a couple weeks back. Let me know if you guys have any experiences with birth centres.

I am terribly sorry to hear about the stillbirth.. I have no words. I've heard great things about St Boniface. I think the midwife and hospital combination is a fine choice for you! I switched over to a midwife at week 30 luckily I found one..it was the best decision ever..even though my OB wasn't bad either. They just give you so much time and attention.

I had my son at St B and it was a great experience but two things I would change, first pay the extra money for a private room & second hire a midwife to give you the full attention even if you have a good OB. My second birth twas a still birth at 22 wks and it was at women's hospital, it was an aweful experience.. Becuase of the stillbirth my midwife recommended to be in a hospital setting.. I think St. B would be my choice even though I really like the birth centre setting.

I've decided to go for the birth centre..hopefully its the right decision..how were your previous pregnancies? If they went smooth maybe this time would be the same and you could go for a birth centre experience. Let me know what you decide. I see that you too are from Winnipeg..:)

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
