sucks she feels that way. sadly it's her house. on another note I'd just tell your dad when you move out that you're not coming over till after baby stops breastfeeding sooner it makes her so uncomfortable.

Exactly, also we are all adults here. And family at that. I'm not living with roommates. I'm living with people who should be fine seeing me breastfeed my child. Their grandchild.

Personally, I understand the stigma men have- many of them have had their opinions formed by our society that breasts are only sexual and that's unfortunate. I'm hoping that's changing. But for women to be prudish or shameful about it upsets me. As women, we should all have a mutual understanding and appreciation for it. Sounds like she's just a spiteful lady.

Ohhh geez, she's just being a wicked step mother then. If everyone else is comfortable with it, then screw her! She doesn't have to stop and stare.

@mamalamadingdong, my father and brother are very supportive of my breastfeeding and proud of my confidence I have doing so. She is just a wicked woman. We have constant issues and she has found yet another way. I am only here until my 6 week check and then I'm moving.

Ugh . Tf ! I would not cover up and I would tell her I am feeding my baby . Smh . Clearly she wasn't breastfed . Sometimes you have to educate people on breastfeeding . Especially old people .

Wow!!! While we can all see the ridiculousness of this, many people are still offended by boobies. My brother used to tell me it was disgusting and I mean, I get it. To him, boobs are boobs and he doesn't want to see his sister's. You'd think women would be more open to this, but obviously that's not always the case. Basically, you can't change someone's mind easily and if it is your parent's house it's probably better just to find a mutual respect and compromise with a nursing cover or bra. Does your dad live there, too? Could it have made him uncomfortable to where he didn't want to say anything so he had her do it? Just a thought, because sometimes men are more weirded out.
