omg girl, I went through the whole hbp and I was also on lebetelol it sucked. I really hope your luck is better than mine because I had my baby at 30 weeks on the dot via c-section and I was going to get a c-section anyway because my placenta was also previa. which sucked even more. but really I advise you not to worry about it so much. I know it's scary. but it's only gonna raise your bp more so just breathe mama.

why did you have him at 30 weeks? did the labetalol stop working??

her* the lebetelol wasn't enough for me, and since I was pregnant they couldn't go any higher on the dosage. I went in my clinic on a Thursday and that's when my OB said to go straight to labor and delivery, right when I got there they gave me dosage after dosage of magnesium and nothing helped my bp. it wasn't until 12 hours later Dr said that my bp was at a dangerous level and I was near having a stroke that could kill me and my baby so they did the c-section.. it was an awful experience for me.

yes. my baby was in the NICU for 2 and a half months. she was born at 2 pounds 11 ounces and was discharged at 5 pounds 4 ounces. along the way she had a couple of surgeries tho. @marleybunny

Awe. Don't be too concerned that will raise your bp like @jrg6515 said. I have type 2 diabetes and hbp and my first two were born early because of my bp o had preeclampsia with them both and both of them were in the nicu for completely different reasons though. My son was born at 37 and he was 8 lbs 12 oz his O2 was a lil low when he was born, via c section after 27 hours of labor he stayed in for a day and a half and thankfully was able to come home with me... My daughter was born at 35 weeks and was 7 lbs 11 oz she was also in the nicu but she was there because she had fluid in her lungs when she was born and that later developed into pneumonia but she is a fighter! She stayed in for two and a half weeks :( but she doing great now! I wasn't on any bp mess with either of them just baby aspirin and insulin due to diabetes... Also with this one my bp has been up and down but I've found that I can semi keep it low by walkin atleast 3 times a week it's been pretty low since then!!! No matter what I know I'm gonna have him early and he's gonna be big lol but both of my kids now you wouldn't even be able to tell that they were in the nicu and they are thriving brilliantly... My best advice for you would be not to be extremely concerned and stay calm don't work your self up that just raises your bp and puts baby at risk! Trust your doctors they have your best interest in mind :) oh and both of my stubborn babies were born via c section because they were both too comfy to be bothered lol. It's not all bad though, you won't have more than you can bare! Be strong for your LO and trust that all things will work out for the better good! Good luck mama!
