Quick question, my one year old has been sleeping through the night since he was 4 months old, and has always put himself to sleep. Here in the past week, he stays awake during the day, takes 1-2 naps like he always has, and will go to sleep at bedtime but has been waking up between 11-12 and stays awake all night until 3-4 and sometimes later. He screams and cries when he wakes up and he has never done this before. Do any of you mommies know why this could be happening? We haven't changed his routine, he hasn't had a belly ache, and I give him medicine for teething just in case and it doesn't seem to help. It seems I have tried EVERYTHING, and nothing has helped.. Any advice ladies?

He may be having bad dreams, my son still occasionally wakes up in the middle of the night and he's about 18 months old. I don't think babies ever really completely sleep through the night until they are older and understand a little better! I hope it gets better for you!!

No, we tried that too. He eats, gets a bath, gets put in his crib with his cup of milk and is normally straight off to sleep. But now he's been waking up an hour later, screaming his head off. @oppy

Well since 4 months old he has slept from 9 at night till about 9:30 in the morning, he's always been really good about sleeping. Someone told me it could be night terrors, because of the crying and screaming, but even when I comfort him and try to tell him it's okay he starts doing it again which is why I thought his teeth were hurting him. But we tried medicine for that too. @Arielmarietalks

My son was the same way! I usually pull him out of his crib and rock him in the recliner. He used to sleep so well and now he has his days where he just doesn't want to sleep.

My son is going through this right now. and Im thinking hes getting jealous because I'm almost due. as soon as I put him in my bed he knocks out. Maybe that could be why.

Maybe he's rest for a new schedule? Delay his first nap and take the second away. It's been a while since my youngest is 7. But I do remember her having less naps that lasted a bit longer.

@brownieluv, he has even not been taking naps during the day because he wants to be awake, even when I try to get him to take a nap he won't go to sleep. @arielmarietalks he doesn't even want me to rock him to sleep now after he wakes up, and @suresti my son doesn't understand that I'm pregnant yet, he's just been fussy too.

My mom said that my son is maybe going through a growth spurt and his sleep patterns change. Kids can sense your pregnant I think. But im not sure
