Has anyone used a nipple shield for overactive letdown? My letdown is too much for her to handle. She cries, screams and pulls away seconds after latching on. I have tried all positions. It is very stressful to feed her.. Please suggest ladies....

This is late but I saw this and my son did that and I come to find out he has acid reflex. If she is still doing this I would get it checked out! Cuz he would cry and all that when I would put him on my boob but it was heartburn. So if she still is it could actually be that!

Yeah pumping would only make it worse... I would give a nipple shield a try and maybe find a nursing consultant in your town and they will be able to help you for sure :) I found I had to lay back and let him nurse laying on my tummy to help with the letdown problems
