So my boyfriend just got his first job and he told me that every pay check he will keep $100 for himself and give the rest to me for things i need, the baby, and to save it. He told me he loves that now he will be able to support his family and especially be a man for me..... I don't know how i feel about him giving me money i feel like it's not his responsibility he is only my boyfriend and we're teen parents... Am i just over thinking? Being to independent? I have always provided for myself and my sisters idk i just feel weird taking his money . But he tells me it's our money. I love him so much for this ❤️ but have mixed emotions 😣

Let him take care of you . If you take that power away from him it will make him feel useless .

Yeah i get that but i just see it as it's not his responsibility. Even though i know it means the world to him being able to do so. I appreciate it don't get me wrong maybe im just being weird i never had this from anyone not my own parents so it's a new feeling @reaganmommy2015

I know that it's new too you but there are so men out there that won't do that at all so I think of you feel uncomfortable with it you can put it all in a saving account and only use in when you actually need it @aj1115

As long as you're getting things for the baby or preparing for the baby in any way then you shouldn't feel bad. I always say when it comes to kids, the responsibilities on parents should be 50/50. I believe most times moms take on most of the responsibility but I'm not having it lol. Whatever my bf can contribute, that's what he's expected to, for OUR child.

He sounds like a very good young man. Be happy you didn't get a deadbeat or someone who doesn't care as much. I am used to having my own and as soon as I got pregnant and was sick my bf suggested I quit and he decided to take on my bills and everything. Right now you need to focus on caring for your baby so I say if he wants to take care of his family let him. After you two have the baby and get situated then maybe you can pick up a job or work from home. I think because since your used to having your own money and taking care of others it's kind of hard to adjust to let someone take care of you. At the end of the day he is providing for his family and that's so noble of him.
