I'm a FTM , I work as a retail coordinator 40 hours a week & hubby works 50 hours a week as a mechanic. Do you ladies think we work too much to maintain a healthy life while trying to raise our first child ?

I'd say take a break or switch to just part time. just until baby is good and you feel the need for them to be socialized @kie123

@mommylo, exactly ! I don't want to come get my baby a notice a diaper rash from them sitting in a wet diaper for too long or notice anything out of the ordinary. & yes winters are so rough out here that's why I don't know how I feel about taking my baby in & out of the cold everyday to different family members houses & half the time you can't trust family either .

I was just going to switch to online and yeah where you are you get winter in so cal they don't have one lol. and if they aren't CPR certified or anything I have a serious problem. I work at a day care and the infant room has had 1 too many accidents happen for me. even though this is a licensed and accredited place and they receive trainings doesn't mean everything is good. I want my child to be able to talk and tell Me everrrythinnng you did today lol. @kie123

@mommylo, omg you sound exactly like me only thing is I'm not in school but everyone is telling me the same thing . They say I need to stay home especially because it's winter time &I Don't need to drag her in & out of the cold everyday & from house to house for people to watch her because I definitely don't do daycare

I work 40 as well plus school 15 hours a week and don't come home until 9. hubby works 14-16 hours a day m-f. he's an aviation electrician. all we have is the weekend. I've been debating to be a sahm but I'm not so sure. I just know God will bless us to find a way. I'm used to making my own as well. it's how I was raised. people tell me oh hes your husband he's supposed to take care of you. yes but I feel of I am healthy and able why not contribute. my biggest thing is the pressure he will feel and have on him though he won't complain or voice it. it's a lot but for now I'm just going to continue to do as I am even though I'm tired. maybe when the baby comes I'll stay home because I don't trust a soul with my first born. or just find a work from home job.

well that's good he want you to stay home, staying home with the baby is a good thing especially being a FTM. I know the feeling of missing your own money

ok that I understand. my biggest issue was finding daycare... because whether you have a ton of money or not, trusting someone is super duuuuper important. I will tell you we didn't find daycare options until this last month of pregnancy. I can't quit and he can't either we need both incomes. so there was no choice but to make it work. there's people of there its just hard to find. and relent you can change your mind at any time. I thought I knew who u wanted until I got a bad feeling about the person and said NEXT!

however it sounds to me like he can take care of yaa'll not everyone can do that. I would take advantage of it sweety... cause if I could stay home and relax for a bit longer with my child I'd do it in a heart beat. go to part time if you feel the need to make your income (kiddos for that independence! )

@iheartriley , he makes more money & always tells me I need to stop working because he has everything under control but I'm just so use to making my own money so it's hard for me to just stop working & we talked to our bosses & unless I cut back to part-time there's literally no other way this could work

@alianagirl, all of my family tells me I need to slow down & need to stay home with the baby & my hubby wants me to stay home as well because we really don't trust anyone with our child & being that we work a lot we would need someone who we really trust

have y'all talk about compromising yall work schedule? I had the same problem when I started a family.. it was rough seeing who job is more important to provide and figuring out scheduling.

of course not why would you think that? my husband is a general manager working 45 hrs a week. . I'm about to get a promotion as a branch manager working close to 50 hrs at times. ...I'm about to deliver or first child. I'm looking to grow because I know it will help our child's living conditions. yes time is important but so is being able to provide the best.

So I'm expected to pay $500 for rent and almost $300 in utilities. It I only work 10-15 hours a week. How does that work? I can take care of all the utilities but not the rent part 🙄
