Does anyone else's husband seem indifferent or just plain not interestedwhen it comes to the topic of the baby? I feel like he doesn't even want this baby. Over the weekend I was talking about the baby moving around and he interrupted me with a song about chicken nuggets. A couple of days ago we were at walmart for what seemed like forever looking at everything he wanted to look at, and when we got to the baby items, he said he was bored. Idk. I'm watching tv and the dad was so excited over his daughter, and now I'm just so bummed. I wish my husband would make more of an effort to seem interested.

my husband was like that for awhile but he came around. Once he did we talked about his behavior and basically he just wasn't sure how to handle the idea of being a dad so he was ignoring it. We talked about it and he's been amazing since then. Maybe your husband is just nervous and processing?

@bbyenolan22, I hope that's it. It's stressful thinking he wants nothing to do with our little miracle.

understood completely. it had me really upset too I thought it was gonna end our relationship. But I've done a lot of reading and I guess it's pretty common. basically what I read said men don't usually handle emotions as well as women so their first response is to push it back. We don't do that because we physically carry the child we always have the remainder. but because guys don't there brains automatically try to push it away. my hubby got better once we had to start putting up baby things and especially when I started showing more. I think it was just the physical reminder that it was happening. I hope everything works out better for you!

Мама подростка, беременна (20 нед.)
I am in the same boat. our first baby who is 3 now was a surprise and honestly at the wrong time in our life's and he was super excited and really dedicated and wanted to be a part of every step milestone to the point it was almost annoying lol but this pregancy which we planned and had been trying to conceive for months he's so different towards. he likes going to the doc apt but never wants to talk about the actual pregnancy or look at baby stuff or have anything to do with baby related....it's hard cuz I just don't get it. don't feel alone tho#!!

I've read a lot about how it just doesn't become real to the dad until the baby is actually born and he holds the little one.

Stay positive mama. It's completely different for men sometimes.

Мама дочки-младенца
My husband was like that throughout my pregnancy, but once she was born he totally changed. Hes totally involved with her and everything to do with her. It's like it didn't become real to him until she was born.
