Do they give you an ultrasound at the end of pregnancy to see the weight or anything? My doctor keeps telling me im not going to get another one but that doesn't sound safe to me lol what if he's 10 lbs

Depends on your doc and situation. I just had my son tonight and between last Sunday and last night I had 3 ultrasounds done because I was bleeding

Nope, they sure don't...unless medically necessary. I think it's dumb, too. What if the baby is too big (like you said), and I'm too small to push it out? We'll find out when it's too late? So stupid! Angers me.

Or what if baby's cord is wrapped around its neck...it makes no sense that they wouldn't do an ultrasound from 37weeks till baby is born. Or at least do one while at L&D.

@gabrielsmommy2015, aww congratulations and wow this is dumb! @peanut0915 is this serious... im nervous now i dont want to push for 2 hours and than get told i need to do something different 😡 im upset now

Tell me about it! They'll let you labor for days, then you end up with a csection cuz you can't push the baby out for whatever reason. Dumbest thing EVER! And it's so much harder to recover from a csection after a long, hard labor. If they told me baby is too big to push out, I'd opt for a csection right away, rather than being in labor for hours, possibly days and end up with an emergency csection.

@peanut0915, Right, and Id also want to be mentally prepared. The whole situation is scary anyway now my poor baby is confused ugh f this like i want to push him out ive already been here for so many hours 😠 well i wish us both the best!

Can you imagine what mothers went through 30 years ago when ultrasounds were not standard procedure at all?! But your doctor knows what they are doing and what to look out for, so I figure our worries are just because we have no idea what to expect and we all fear the worst!

Most don't do any once they get the pictures of the head, heart, etc at 20wks. I had one ultrasound at 19wks and one at 21wks. My doctor wouldn't give me a weight estimate because of possible inaccuracy, but I knew she was about 7lbs. I was right! And she did have the cord around her neck, but they slipped it off when she was coming out.
