Ok so at night I can't sleep and during the day I am so sleepy it's ridiculous so my question is can I take melatonin to help me sleep at night so I'm not so sleepy during the day? (I have 2 6 yr olds that go to school but I've got a 3 yr old at home all day so it's hard to get naps in with him)

I was taking it before I was pregnant but I stopped when I got pregnant and started taking benadryl instead. I looked it up online but wasn't confident enough that it was safe. I would ask my doctor to be sure.

Thanks, I'm just so tired during the day and then everyone else is asleep at night and I'm sitting in the living room by myself wide awake. Like I just wanna sleep like a normal person

@queeneden, I just looked it up and everything I see says NOT to take it because it could cause birth defects. So guess I'll have to find something else to try to help me sleep

Yea I think that was the same conclusion I came to as well. I know the struggle. I take benadryl when I can't sleep. I tried unisom but it's the same as taking 2 benadryl and it was too strong for me. One benadryl does the trick for me and usually a nap whenever I can squeeze one in. You may want to start adding a smoothie and oatmeal in the morning and cut as much sugar as possible. That really helps.

Yea I'm gonna have to do something... And yea Benadryl does me the same way so I will try it and see if that helps. I think it's my job bc I work til 11 sometimes 11:30 at night come home take a shower then by the time I get done it's like 1:00 and I'm wide awake
