My best friend told me that in the town we're from (I no longer live there) that the wic office requires you to come in the day after you leave the hospital with your baby so they can take their blood and all that jazz. If that's the case, I will no longer be getting wic. I'll be damned if I take my brand new baby into that nasty, dirty place before she's at least had her first shots. No no no no no.

im not sure about all that. i know here your supposed to call after you have your baby and make an appointment...but the day after you leave the hospital? that seems a bit much.

@mommytoaz, Well I can do without wic then. I'm not taking her out anywhere until she's gone to the doctor and gotten her shots. Especially the health department

thats understandable, i know they get a set of shots.in the hospital so yeah formula is high af though, but im breastfeeding@sarahrachel0715

@mommytoaz I know they get some when they're first born. But I've heard the ones they get at their first appointment are more important. Even if they weren't why would any woman want to be sitting at wic all day right after they have a baby?? It's ridiculous. And yeah I'm planning to breastfeed to. So if I have to go without a few extra gallons of milk and bread. So be it.

@juliagail09 It is crazy! And I promise you I won't be doing it. Not only because of her at risk of getting sick or something, but why would I want to sit at the wic office right have I deliver a baby? No thanks

Yeah i know what you mean. maybe it was cause i delivered at the end of the year and we were at the hospital for 3 days and then there was a holiday so i couldnt call until like a week after. i wouldnt do it the day after I get out of the hospital though thats crazy. luckily our wic office is nice and clean but still thats crazy.

yeah they're outta line id make every excuse to postpone it. luckily u dont have to deal with it
