Depends on who you bought the phone thru is what I've been told. My brother just got an i6 and he had to buy it through the Apple Store because if he bought it through att which is where he got his service they wouldn't allow it to be unlocked even though he was paying for the phone in full up front. Now he can take his phone to any service provider and they can't pick him into a contract.

Ugh don't say that! I know a few ppl who got their phones unlocked with us cellular and switched over to Verizon. I'm just having the hardest time getting this phone unlocked.

A lot of times if you unlock your phone another company won't activate it. The only one I think the will is boost mobile.0
