9 Weeks Post C-Section: Growing Love for Mila - Realistic Postpartum Journey

I'll be honest, which is hard, but I have grown to love my girl more and more post c section - not everyone is struck with overwhelming love immediately so don't beat yourself up if you're the same .... I had no PPD, and I loved her from day one, but it's grown into a special love as I have recovered.. So much emphasis and pressure is put on new mums to be 'struck with love' - Be realistic with yourselves ladies and stay strong :-) xx

It's so refreshing to hear this truth and know others feel it too. Sitting on apps like this and reading about how people are so strongly and truly in love with their newborn and how the newborn has changed their lives and seeing all these cute pictures I was starting to feel so down. I love my child but for the most part I feel like I'm just getting through day by day, trying to get past this stage. My husband seems head over heels for him and I'm truly struggling. I don't know this child, I don't know it's personality, it's ticks, it's ways, also it doesn't seem he knows me yet. Yes I know he knows my smell and knows I provide milk and comfort, but he doesn't seek me out, smile at me, respond to me. All these things will come, but until then I can't say I feel this overwhelming love. It kept worrying me daily and having suffered from depression before I was wondering if this was ppd, I have no idea. Glad to hear others feel the same.
