they eat slower when they nurse and the milk comes out differently in the bottle. as long as she is peeing 6-8 times a say and gaining weight she's good. I read an article because I was worried about how I would pump enough as he gets older. what it said was that with formula the mixture is always the same so babies require more ounces as they get older but with breastmilk it is always changing to accommodate babies growth so they can take 4-5 ounces at 8 months where a formula fed baby might need 6-8.

@junebaby, my baby will be 4 months tomorrow n I have her getting 3-4 oz bottles and I wonder if it's too much or enough because at night I nurse only no bottles n I feel like she nurses longer /more frequent wake ups now since bottles are all she gets all day

@thehowtohippie, thanks that makes me feel a little better! @queendavis I'm gonna start doing two pills n try the Gatorade too I drink lost of water! I saw the beer thing and I read with alcohol as long as u don't bf for 2/3 hours after A drink u don't have to dump!

I nurse or pump at least every three hours with the exception of night time and we go about 5 hours then. drink lots of water and I take fenugreek and mothers milk tea.

my baby is almost two months and I get about 3-3.5 ounces when I pump total. Not everyone can produce large amounts and that's ok. Your baby will still be getting what they need.

No I didn't work and nurse :( I'm a stay at home mom so I just nursed my son all day and pumped whenever I got a chance.

Also you don't want to wait till you feel engored or forced to pump that will only diminish your supply. Once you start getting very full it sends a message to your brain saying "stop were making too much milk" so production slows down.

Girl I feel you cuz I was the same way and was super lazy when it came to pumping! I took 2 fenugreek pills a day. One in the am and one in the pm. The more you pump, the more milk you'll make cause your boobs will think the baby is eating so your body will naturally make more milk. Gatorade is good for increasing your supply also. I've also heard if you drink one beer a day it REALLY helps. But idk how that would work since it would be in the breastmilk, I guess you would have to pump and dump? Idk but the main thing is to not be lazy cause once I actually put effort into pumping and increasing my supply, it made making a back up stash of milk soooo much easier!

It's good to remember not all moms respond well to the pump. Also your breasts may not hold a reserve and they may more make milk on demand meaning my breast hold a lot of milk I have a large "reserve" my friend has lots of milk and no problem nursing but she'd have to pump for hours to get a few oz because she didn't hold a lot and she didn't respond to a pump like she did her baby

Did you work n nurse @queendavis , when I was off I was pumping and storing a lot but when at work I get bout 7 oz then I come home n pump like 8 more to cover the next day but never any extra unless I pump on the weekends which I sometimes skip doing smh

Maybe I do need to try to build up a bigger supply that would leave me no choice but to pump lol @queendavis

Lol how many did u take per day I take one, I think I'm just lazy when it comes to pumping I make enough milk to last my baby the 9 hours I'm away but not a bit more, I hate to pump at night in the middle of the night. I eat oatmeal, take the nursing tea and those pills I got milk I just don't store it😩 @queendavis I'm lazy smh

It helped me boost my supply enough to where I could pump and store a lot of milk while also being able to nurse my son throughout the day.

I suggest Fenugreek pills to help increase your supply! I took them daily when I was BFing my son and they helped immensely!
