Maybe some mommies can help me put some things into perspective? I really wanted to breast feed but I also want to go back to work at some point...nothing full time though...I feel like once I go back to work I won't be able to breast feed her and won't have enough time to pump so I was thinking about just doing formula..I know breast feeding is way better...is there any working breastfeeding moms that make it work? And how? And how do you keep your supply for drying up? I'm worried as well because I am 32 weeks and haven't had any colostrum come in yet...please help!

@littleboomommy, well I'll be looking for a new job since I'm not working now so that probably would be something to discuss with the employer...which also makes me nervous because I don't want to not get hired somewhere because I need a little extra time

Oh ok I missed read your post I thought you were already on maternity leave or something at your job... My hospital offers a "breastfeeding working moms" class. Whenever I go I'll be sure to post the advice & tips they gave us

I took a breastfeeding class and they said some mommies won't see their colostrum, I haven't seen mine yet, but I'm not trying to stress over it just cuz stress can make it harder. Definitely talk with you job and they should have a place for you to pump and not a bathroom or utility room. Some managers will let women use their office while they are in their lunch. Definitely don't stress about it, talk to your job and see if the hospital has lactation specialists that you can talk to about how to work and still breastfeed.

One of my best friends has a full time job and pumped for 10 months with her children. She didn't use formula at all. She pumped at work and stored in a cooler.

my winmammatobe, @karnawest I guess I'm siking myself out a little just because I hear people say it's so time consuming and on top of working I don't want to take too much time away from my five year old (he is in this needy stage) lol....and does pumping help keep your supply up? Or does it depend on the lady?

She stuck to a strict time schedule and pumped 15 minutes on each side and made sure she drank lots of water. I am breastfeeding and pumping with a 2 1/2 year old. Just takes a little organization but definitely doable 😊 @wisky80wife

@wisky80wife, definitely try not to over think it. one of my docs said he first baby wouldn't latch and she stressed to much over it, but with her 2nd baby she was able to nurse for a full year, she said she was just gonna give it her best shot and not beat herself up if it didn't work. I heard lots of mommies put lots of stress on themselves and then it ends up not working out the way they want it to. It's definitely doable just gonna take practice and patience. Ima try and nurse twins lol! I've been told it can be done. Definitely try to find lactation specialists in ur area online or at ur hospital. even check out WIC even if your not getting wic they can still help you. The specialist are trained and can help you get your questions answered and then some. they might help put your mind at ease about nursing. I know I was worried bout how ima nurse twins but after talking with them I'm felling better about it and more confident that I'll be able to when they get here. ☺☺

@wisky80wife, even if you don't qualify see what free information and classes they have, here in Tennessee the wic office is in the health department, and they have free classes for pregnant ladies, pregnancy yoga and so much more. Also see what your hospital has to offer. my breastfeeding class was offered at my hospital (don't have to deliver there to take the class) but the consultants that work there come and visit you after the baby is born and are on call so if you want help or have questions they can help. So definitely see what you hospital offers as well
