Quick question! I bought some clothes and a couple other things from someone and they smell terrible!! We won't be going to town until this weekend so I can't pick up any baby detergent until then. Can I wash these things in regular detergent once to get rid of the smell? It's seriously putting off a smell in my living room (where all baby things are right now). Then I can re wash them with baby detergent later on since he won't be here for another 16 weeks

That's completely fine. I'm not even using baby detergent, I'm using tide gentle with no smell.

Definitely. You don't just have to use baby detergent for baby clothes. Any free and clear detergent works well and is much cheaper ;) lol. But I would wash it once to get rid of the smell for sure.

yeah if they have a bad smell just wash them with regular laundry soap and then later rewash them with baby soap

I'm not using any baby detergent. I'm using mine because a tiny portion of it is already getting in my blood stream and my child is already getting adjusted to it from me.

Okay awesome! Thanks everyone. I'm a FTM and all I kept hearing was how you had to buy special detergent for babies. So thanks for clearing that up haha

yes that'd be fine. and Omg when you buy baby detergent get dreft it smells AMAZING,

np love. with my last 2 I bought dreft then read that & I was like Why!!??? lol. this time around I'm just gonna be using our soap!!!
