I have chosen to not supplement any formula this time around. It's been tough, as I have flat nipples and he is not that great of a latcher. But we nursed several times a day for the first 3 or 4 weeks. But lately I have been exclusively pumping. I'm extremely proud of my supply. Getting around 35 oz per day at this point. I have been able to freeze quite a bit. We are ordering a chest freezer as we have stocked up both of our freezers already! I'm happy with this choice and am sooo proud that I have stuck with it. Exclusively pumping is tough! I give credit to other EPing mamas. But again, as long as we feed our babies, that's all that matters! My first was only formula, my second was a combination of breastmilk and formula for 5 months (then just formula) and little guy is only breastmilk for now! Keep up the great work mamas!!

@miss judyk, I have tried nipple shields with all 3. My first wanted nothing to do with it. 2nd was just a lazy nurser. Ha! And Wyatt will still nurse here and there. (Which is nice when I'm out and about and can't pump!) And thank you @queeneden @teemae92 and @expecting2015 And @sophiesmom7 I pumped the 2nd day in the hospital because he had to be under the lights for his bilirubin. So I asked the lactation specialist for a pump so I could avoid formula while he was in the nursery. And i have a Medela pump in style. I have to set alarms and I am trying to pump every 3-4 hours. Some days I am a little less strict on that. But he is already drinking 4.5 oz bottles! Ha. So I have to push myself and set alarms (especially for the nighttime sessions). My husband works 3rd shift. So nights can get rough. But i drink a ton of water throughout the day. We've already got about 500 oz in the freezer from about a month of pumping. I keep enough in the fridge for about 3 or 4 bottles in case he gets hungrier than normal or we have to go somewhere.
