To help him tell you when he has to go, give him a treat when he does. A small bag of pretzels, or candy that he can eat, my sister started going potty so much easier after that.

@queendavis, He doesn't let me know but every time I go to the bathroom or my husband does, we take him with us and have him sit down and we give him something to distract him so he doesn't leave the potty chair. So far it's just pee, but when we change his diaper, we let him know if he peed or pooped so that when he does talk more he can tell us! He says "pa pa" for potty when he already went but do far not when he has to go lol
Wow, awesome! Pee or poo? And did he let you know he needed to go? Just asking cuz my son is almost 17 months old and I'm really considering starting with the potty training before his sister gets here in sept!
Dont Worry You Probably Will :)

#mombassadorchat Moms, Done with diapering? Today we're chatting all things potty training with @smilingwithmyawesome4kids, who is a mombassador and admin of the very popular potty training group in the app. Share your potty training stories, ask questions and share tips on this post. @smilingwithmyawesome4kids will also answer any questions! Here's her bio and general tips: Hello I am Ceiamaria I am a stay at home Mother to 4 children ages 12,8,7 and 11 months old. I am happily married for 12 years and we are still going strong. I am determined and driven for success FAILURE isn't an option for me. I potty trained my oldest at 9 months old. My 2 middle son's were more difficult they were between 18 months and 2 years old. My baby boy was showing interest in potty training, I decided to buy him a potty chair. Potty training tips 1.) Don't rush your child 2.)Don't yell at your child 3.) Don't punish your child for having accidents 4.) Don't give you child candy 5.) Don't compare other children to your child 6.) Do praise your child 7.) Clap your hands when your child goes to the potty. 8.)Take your child every 15-30 minutes to the potty 9.)Don't criticize your child 10.) I don't recommend pull ups but I don't bash mothers who decided to use them. 11.) Remember potty training is not taught in one day you have to be determined to potty train your child.
