Is it always a mandatory occurrence that you lose your mucus plug before labor? Or can some actually labor for a while and start dialating before actually losing it?
(I was induced with my oldest that's why I'm kind of lost)

You dont have to lose your mucus plug to go into labor.

No I never lost my plug before I went into labor my water broke and I lost my plug a couple hours labor

I lost mine and my dr said it has nothing to do with when I'll be going into labor. He was right. I lost mine at 37 weeks and I didn't go into labor until I was 40 weeks and that was because he stripped my membranes.
