I had my 24 week appt today & my Dr told me I am gaining too much weight. Her goal for me was 20-25 lbs Total Gain for the pregnancy. I've gained 21 lbs so far... I eat well and exercise, but I do have a sweet tooth & I guess it's caught up to me. 😢 Anyone else gain about this much when you were as far along as I am?
Thank you @livd15 I'm going to try to watch the snacking and eat as healthy as possible. My meals are well balanced, but I know I've been eating sweets more than I should! By the way, I just saw your pic at 24 weeks and you look so great!!! Seriously!
ugh don't listen ! and I gained ten of my weight in 4 weeks haha my doc also said its normal to gain a bunch fast then it slows down. it's hard being a girl concerned about image then being pregnant like whole new ball game. don't stress just eat as healthy as u can and do u!
@ak16, I actually gained exactly 5 lbs since my last appt 4 weeks ago LOL. You are right though, weight fluctuates and some days I'll carry more than others I'm sure. I think 30 lbs is a good goal. If I could reach that by delivery, I will be sooo happy!
Thank you @livd15, You're right about that. I feel fat, too. Esp all week I've heard a few coworkers comment how big I've been getting, and now this. Lol...
@babyhawkins2015, either way, you look great, girl! I'm sure you will be there again shortly after this one. 😀
Thank you, @mickbaby that makes me feel better to know the gain may slow down as I get along further. I was thinking at this rate, I will probably gain another 15 at least by the time I deliver. Lol
Lol yeah I don't have one either at home to be checking on it daily but as long as you aren't gaining like 5 pounds everytime you go back you're good 😊 besides you weigh heavier after you've been up and eating, everyone gains and loses different so embrace it. I'm hoping for only 30 lbs max this time
@virgosweetness, No worries, I was 114 and am 135 as of today. I am 5'2" though so I guess it's more weight on my smaller frame. How tall are you? If your Dr hasn't said anything negative, then I am sure you are well & healthy. :)
@ak16, @kmrie, My Dr has 2 kids and told me she didn't gain more than 20 lbs with both pregnancies. I guess her standards are different. Thank you, and I agree that everyone is different. It just brought me down. Especially because I don't have a scale at home and don't get weighed unless at the Dr. It was unexpected and I knew I was going to get a lecture! Lol
@varduim, Thank you... that pic was after three kids and 16 years later. I better had lost this weight WELL BEFORE this one turns 16. LOL
@babyhawkins2015, I saw your pre-pregnancy photo after your 1st child, and you look amazing! I don't think you will have any problems losing the weight. I hope I can be as lucky!
Anywhere from 25-35 is totally healthy and normal. Weight gain also slows down the bigger baby gets because there's no room in your belly anymore. You're gonna be fine!
not to b rude but how much do u weigh I am 30 weeks I've already gained 38 lbs and my doctor hasn't said anything and said I look great I'm like yea right I'm a whale but I was Itty bitty before hand
Ya I did an my doc pretty much told me the same an as much as you try your pregnant it's gunna happen it's ok to gain some weight maybe not a super huge amount but some an the amount they tell us like 25 pounds for the whole pregnancy ya ok lol not that easy just keep doing what your doing I'm sure your fine an healthy!
With my first I gained about 50 in total, my second 30 in total but my doctor never made it a big deal about not getting the ideal goal books tell you to gain because everyone is different
I was right where you are at 21 weeks. Now I'm 28 weeks I've gained 30 pounds. My doctor is old fashioned and said the same thing. As long as you aren't carb loading every day or eating ice cream for every meal, the weight your baby gains on you is necessary for their growth. They know what's healthy for them, and chances are, it will all fall right back off anyway. Even if it's 60-80 pounds. (My mom gained that much) especially breastfeeding, you'll be back to normal in no time. Some old fashioned doctors are just set in their ways and want you to follow it by the book but don't feel bad about it. My doctor made me cry about it lol
