@anastay.p, You must be! :) I was told when you lay on your back, the weight of the uterus presses on a vein that runs behind it (or something similar), and it can keep oxygen or nutrients from reaching the baby. If you are feeling ok, then that is good. Just be careful.
@quansmommy, Yeah that's what I've been told, too, and have stopped sleeping on my back since around 16 weeks I think.
@varduim, oh, I don't feel my heart beating faster when I lay on my back... I guess I'm the lucky one, but maybe I'll need to change it when I get bigger
its not good to lay on ur back after a certain amount of weeks @varduim its why im so frustrated
I've also been trying what @anastay.p said, I put a small pillow under one hip so I am a little propped to the side, but my back and shoulders are back. It helps a little, but not the same. If I lay directly on my back too long, I feel my heart beating faster & I don't think that's good, for me anyway.
I catch myself in the middle of the night sleeping on my back. Weird thing is is that I've never been a back sleeper till I got pregnant this time. I've always been a side sleeper.
its driving me crazy @varduim , i will try that @anastay.p
I still sleep on my back. If you don't feel uncomfortable you should be fine. You can also put a small pillow under your back, it helps to sleep kind of between your back and side ..
Me too :'( That's 1 thing I really look forward to doing again.
@varduim, yeah, I heard that too, but my doctor said its fine to sleep on my back sometimes if I feel ok., I'll keep an eye on it
