ughhhh sooooo for those of you who don't know I have GD (I'm on medication Glyburide to try and control it; 2 every morning before breakfast and 1-2 every night before dinner)
normal blood sugar should be at its lowest (before eating) 90 and highest (2 hrs after eating last bite) 120
I ate dinner and ate last bite at 9:15-9:20pm
at 9:45pm took my blood sugar to see how high it was at its highest point and it was at 120 which is good for being 25-30 mins after eating
at 1:30am took it and it was 78
is now 3:15am im starving and can't sleep because I'm so hungry!!!
no telling what its going to be at, at 8:00am for my morning blood draw after fasting..... mind you I stop eating every night before my appointments at 10-10:30pm at the latest to give myself a little more time to work through dinner just in case.....
ughhhh any guesses what it might be at in the morning at my 8am appointment ladies?

You're supposed to eat 6 times a day, each 2 and a half hours apart. I find that if I stick to that I'm not super hungry all of the time

you should eat something too, my nurse said if I'm hungry that I need to eat no matter what.

that's what my fiancé said (this is his 5th baby, hes 43 im 22 please don't think less of me) and he said that this doctor is a moron and shouldn't under any circumstance tell a pregnant woman not to eat for any reason regardless if she has GD or not. that it's not only hurting me its hurting the baby and he thinks it's causing more harm than good. that I was fine prior to seeing this Dr so what's the difference now, except he gets more money from medicaid if I have more things wrong with me and he has to see me more than a regular patient would be seen. also the medication is more money from medicaid as well.....

Well I have GD too. You should still stick to the diet so that your baby doesn't grow to big cause that's dangerous for baby and mama. but you need to eat when you need to eat

Yes, eat if you're hungry! If you're concerned what it will do to your blood sugar, stick to high protein, low carb snacks. Cheese, nuts, veggies.
