So how does the whole getting married in a court house work? Has anyone done it?

I did it....you have to go to register of deeds to complete the application and pay the fee...you have 60 days from the date you applied to get married...you pay the judge whatever fee they charge to marry you and then you pay whatever the cost is for certified copies...in all we paid $90...$60 for application, $20 for judge to marry us, and $10 for a certified copy(we ended up getting 2 so it was $20)

you probably can do the application online and just pay the fee at the office

You go to the courthouse fill out the marriage license and pay for it (mine was $65) you have 90 days (varies from county to county) to get married you can do it there it's like $100 for the judge to do. You can provide your witness or have one provided for an additional fee of like $60

@ngujen if you go early in the morning on the days that they do them you probably can get it done the same day. we chose June 26th and did our paperwork like a week before. it all depends on how the courthouse do them. you probably can get more answer by going on your courthouse website

I got my papers and was married the next day!

I can't remember how much it cost to get the marriage license, but we just went and got it at the records office. Then you have to wait like 3 days to get married. We went to the justice of the peace and he married us. That cost about 65 dollars :) Texas doesn't make it too difficult but you have to remember to take it back to the records office after you get married so they can legally record it.

My husband paid 65$ and paid 30$ for the judge to marry us
