My employer has decided to force me to resign over a simple mistake that I've done. The thing is it wasn't just me but because I'm pregnant, leaving anyway & he doesn't like women, he has pinned it all on me. I didn't want things to end badly with him but he is affecting my maternity rights & I'm fuming. 😡😡😡

@essex-angel he isn't sacking me as he hasn't mentioned that and I am not resigning so we've come to this awkward stance where he wants me to resign... Like forcing me. Which he can't do I know but it makes for an awkward conversation. Not want I need when I'm 34 weeks -_- the thing is I leave for maternity in 2 days so I think he was trying to find anything he could on me so he didn't have to pay anything. I'm the first member of staff he has had that's been pregnant so he is doing a lot of things wrong from what I can gather -_-

are you with a union or anything? if you are and you day you want your union representative in your next meeting he will crap himself and drop everything. employers are scared of unions because they pick out everything they are doing wrong and won't allow it xx

Also you're employer doesn't pay your maternity pay, it's statutory it's paid by the government. employers are reimbursed for it. my work paid me full pay for six weeks but after that, it was statutory pay. so if you just work your two days till maternity leave it will be fine. You will still get your pay and you don't have to go back.

I'm pretty sure you're still entitled because you've worked so far into your pregnancy. don't agree to anything, don't accept any blame for anything.... I urge you to go and seek advice. your rights have never been stronger than when you are pregnant.

get signed off for stress

2 days doesnt affect a thing, he should have set up your maternity way before now and given ypu confirmation of this.

@zeld, is right, I take it you've worked there since the start of your pregnancy? If so you've already qualified for smp, he also can't touch you if you get signed off for pregnancy reasons (I.e not wanting to put yourself and your baby at risk of stress due to him being a prick) as if he does its discrimination. You could take him to the cleaners. He doesn't have a leg to stand on Hun so don't worry xx
