braxton hicks are uncomfortable but they shouldn't hurt. its a tightening in your stomach. real contractions are severe, and get worse over time..

contractions are cramping and tightening along with some vagina pain. and definitely a lot of back pain

can contractions happen and be painful, but not too the point where it's excruciating? like they hurt but not too bad. cause he started kicking alot and my stomach started cramping but not unbearably.

@natnatbabygirl, cramping is normal in pregnancy and your baby moves because your skin is stretched and your organs are piled into one part of your body. The best way I can explain BH- is a tightening feeling in your belly. Like hard as a rock. It kinda feels like baby is sticking his but out as far as he can! It will be a tightening sensation and honestly can be mildly painful! And regulars contractions are period like pains that last a certain amount of time and happen in certain intervals. Typically if you think it's a real contraction get up and walk. If they become more frequent. Or stronger. It's a real contraction. BH have to certain pattern. They just sporadically happen!
