Damian will only eat his baby oatmeal if I mix it with just 2% milk and some fruit. I guess he loves how its cold and doesn't have that iron taste like when I would make it with his formula, he's already picky like his dad 😒😙

@cookiemonster1216 its fine, for me its not necessary. My family, we do things differently, in mexico its way different. If my baby had other health issues I would but babies are human beings too and some people wanna treat them like their some sort of species. Maybe other babies are more delicate but I think I have an idea of what I can feed him lol

the great thing is, that doctors and people like doctors have done all the research for you! All you have to do is do a Google search and it'll bring up everything they found.

@cookiemonster1216 lol hun, if I sit and research everything thats supposed to be "bad" I would never finish! I dont research, I listen to my sixth sense because nobody knows my kid like I do! You can research all you want but my baby might be a baby but hes human too. What do you think they fed kids back in the day when a mother didnt have breastmilk? Lol my grandpa was given donkeys milk cause he didnt want breastmilk, he kept spitting it out, he lived a good happy 76 years so yeah, lol the "academy of pediatrics" can kiss it lol but like ypu said, its myyy baby myyy choice right? So its all good, to each their own 😊

I know it's your baby, and ultimately, its up to you. But to blatantly ignore proven research seems foolish. It's funny that you mention the car seat thing. Used to they said that it was safe to FF a 1yr old. Now research shows it's better to RF until 2. But there's tons of people who say "oh, it's fine to FF my 9mo, my other baby is fine!" then tragedy strikes. Every child is different, just because one was okay, doesn't mean they will all be okay. This research isn't just for kicks. It's for your child's safety. I highly encourage you to research.

@californiahaley its just milk a few months earlier than they are allowed. I already feed him everything, in my family we just don't really follow "instructions" with our kids lol but they're good and healthy so far. I just go based on what I think my baby is capable of handling, its like sixth sense. But like I wouldnt forward face his carseat yet though lol

You just may want to speak to your pedi about it. Just cause your other son was fine doesn't mean it's good for them

Adverse effects of cow's milk in infants.
The feeding of cow's milk has adverse effects on iron nutrition in infants and young children. Several different mechanisms have been identified that may act synergistically. Probably most important is the low iron content of cow's milk. It makes it difficult for the infant to obtain the amounts of iron needed for growth. A second mechanism is the occult intestinal blood loss, which occurs in about 40% of normal infants during feeding of cow's milk. Loss of iron in the form of blood diminishes with age and ceases after 1 year of age. A third factor is calcium and casein provided by cow's milk in high amounts. Calcium and casein both inhibit the absorption of dietary nonheme iron. Infants fed cow's milk receive much more protein and minerals than they need. The excess has to be excreted in the urine. The high renal solute load leads to higher urine concentration during the feeding of cow's milk than during the feeding of breast milk or formula. When fluid intakes are low and/or when extrarenal water losses are high, the renal concentrating ability of infants may be insufficient for maintaining water balance in the face of high water use for excretion of the high renal solute. The resulting negative water balance, if prolonged, can lead to serious dehydration. There is strong epidemiological evidence that the feeding of cow's milk or formulas with similarly high potential renal solute load places infants at an increased risk of serious dehydration. The feeding of cow's milk to infants is undesirable because of cow's milk's propensity to lead to iron deficiency and because it unduly increases the risk of severe dehydration. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17664905

If he's under a year he shouldn't be getting cows milk at all. Not even a little
