sorry in advance if this is TMI but breastfeeding mama's I have a question for you! does the amount of colostrum produced correlate to how much milk you'll produce? I'm 25 weeks now and getting colostrum like crazy. like I'll randomly start leaking and it'll drip out. I really wanna try to breastfeed for as long as I can and I have to go back to work at 6 weeks after.

Leaking during pregnancy doesn't have much to do with supply...I NEVER leaked and had an over supply for the first 4 months and now my supply is regulated to exactly the amount that she needs...feeding on demand, eating healthy, and pumping when feedings are skipped are all things that ensure you have a great supply ☺️

I was just curious whether it was related or not. thank you @paisleysmama0216 I'm just worried about having a good supply for him cuz I absolutely have to go back to work after 6 weeks, maybe earlier but I'm gonna ask my OB to give me the max time I can get since I'm a single mom

The first 6 weeks are VERY important in establishing supply you just gotta commit to it and work hard at feeding&pumping; and eating&hydrating; ...when you do return to work, your job HAS to allow you time to pump and a place to pump when necessary...just remember to stay positive ☺️

yeah they're working on writing a new policy for pumping in the army. I'm gonna talk to my leadership about it before I go on maternity leave to coordinate where I can pump and when I'll need to pump.

In the beginning I would go a MAX of 3 MAYBE 4 hours without pumping but as baby gets older you can stretch it a little longer if needed
