I'll have to get a hot pad bc that's exactly what I feel like the flu

I had that happen to me the other day

I felt like I had the flu, all I did was I put a hot pad on for a while and every time I nursed on that one breast and when I pumped I took my hand and massaged it. I felt better the next day. I hope you get it taken care of!!!

Oh goodness, well I really appreciate all the feedback ladies! I took a hot shower, pumped, and nursed him. I get sharp pains that radiate through my chest so I will probably call the lactation consultant tomorrow and my Dr. You are all amazing tho thank you

take your temp. often. what I do because I don't go to the Dr's for mastitis when my breast gets hot I pump, i trt ti nurse than I pump at least 4 Oz I respond well to a pump and that's my norm. then when it gets hot again or she's hungry I feed on that side. just check your temp because if you're not careful it'll get way to high mine was 103.7 the other day when I had it good luck!

My antibiotics didn't work the first time either. I'd definitely make an appointment.

In that case, the antibiotics may not have worked, many people are becoming resistant to them and could mean it progressed into a more serious infection at this point. Antibiotics are overprescribed and could actually cause more complications, but that's a whole other conversation, lol. Knowing that this is the case and you finished the antibiotics, you definitely need to contact your doc. They will likely try to prescribe you stronger antibiotics, but I would suggest asking if they have any other options for you to try.

Yes @mamalamadingdong I get body aches and cramping. And yep its in a spacific place one the right breast near the armpit but it's a good portion of the right side. And @arielmarietalks I just finished a week of antibiotics that would have treated mastitis so that's why I didn't think it would be that

(Blocked milk duct is mastitis) Like she said, it sounds infected because you said there is heat. If you can pinpoint a spot that feels like a little ball, you need to gently massage it while pumping. Usually, that will clear it after a day or two, but if it gets worse, you will need to see a doc.

Sounds like mastitis! Which is basically a clogged duct that's infected. Pump a ton and make a Dr appointment if It doesn't feel better. I had mastitis twice and it sucked a ton.

The side where? Use two fingers to press down, forming circles from the nipple and working outward to pinpoint if there is an exact site of pain.

Also, when you say your whole body aches, does it feel like stomach cramping as well?

The side is hard and sore.

It could be a blocked milk duct. If you massage the breast of the side that hurts, do you feel any little balls or knots?
